Marie is riding Big Dan while ponying Joey. We actually trained Joey to be ponied when he was just a weanling and then sold him to a family in South Carolina. They raised him and brought him back to us to start under saddle. He is the direct son of our old stallion Alen's Painted Desert.

I rode Boogie in our local Christmas parade this year with battery-operated lights. Cheyenne rode Indy and Liz rode Big Dan.

Yoshi and Big Dan watch the goat herd as they prune a tree. Fascinating stuff!

So nice when a stallion (Jackpot, the palomino) is mellow enough to stand quietly even when touching a gelding (Big Dan), especially when he just came in from breeding a couple of days ago. So nice when a gelding is just no problem anywhere you put him, too!

We look for scary obstacles along the trail anywhere we go, and for some reason, horses seem to be terrified of culverts! I had just ridden Tejas through this culvert here, followed by Stal Okkema on Jackpot, and I was so thrilled to turn around and see my Reggie riding Big Dan through it, too!

Everyone, gallop your horses!

Friesian trainer Stal Okkema, from the Netherlands was visiting one of his biggest fans today, my friend Becky. While he usually trains Friesians to drive, he rode our palomino Tennessee Walking Horse Stallion, Jackpot, while Becky rode our Kentucky Mountain Horse, Indy.

Stal Okkema's champion
apprentice, Reggie Glover is riding our grey sabino gelding, Big Dan, and Cheyenne is riding our palomino gelding Tebow.

Taking a breather under the trees, Riley on Rollo, Cheyenne on Big Dan and Hailey on Jesse James.

Big Dan, helping Cheyenne carry the buckets to the trailer.

Cheyenne, riding Big Dan during our camping trip the weekend of 10/22/16 in the piney woods of East Texas.

Big Dan is checking out the lake, and on this hot Texas autumn day, he was quite happy to slip right into that cool lake water.

Big Dan is a HOSS! He is a big, stout gentle giant that most people would feel safe riding and having their grandkids ride, as well. He is very smooth gated and has a big wow factor of chrome!

I love early morning rides.

Marie got up really early and drove two hours to join us at camp in the Angelina Forest by 7:30am. I color her AWESOME!

She is riding Big Dan and Huey is following on Jesse James.

Early morning on the bluff of Lake Sam Rayburn. Marie, on Big Dan.

"Big Dan" -- Big, beautiful, 15.3H 6-yr-old splashed-up grey sabino, so he will always be this color, his entire life. This horse loves attention, grooming, being bathed, and is probably gentle for anyone in the family to ride. He's big enough for a large man, yet gentle enough for a small child. His gait is really nice, a smooth four beat and then he has a nice cowboy lope. He backs nicely, moves off leg pressure and is learning to sidepass now. $6500

Our precious friends, the Wilson family! This was our evening ride to the Angelina Forest. Stephanie is riding a champion Paso Fino (direct son of Classico de Plebeyo) that he bred, raised and trained. Jarrod is riding our speed racking mare Six (a daughter of George Foreman's stallion, Cocoa, and she is also the dam of our speed racking stud colt, Buckshot), and Lexie is riding Big Dan, a sabino Tennessee Walker soon to be for sale. We had a great ride and got back at camp after dark!

Big Dan is sunbleached and gets darker in the winter, so his white stockings and splotches REALLY stand out! He just had a bath here, and wasn't quite dry, so that's what the splotchy marks are.
