Tails swishing in overtime as we ride right through the worst of the horse flies -- after all, they must be trained to tolerate them!

He's just a teenager, really, kind of gangly and just starting to fill out and broaden.  Even so, he has a nice rump, relatively wide chest, sturdy bone structure.  We're thinking that by the time he's 7 years old, his mane will hang past his shoulders!  His tail is already almost dragging the ground, and he's extra flashy with his blaze down his face, and two long white hind socks.  These pictures taken on 5/27/10.

"Bon Jovi" -- Gorgeous dappled golden palomino gelding with long thick cotton white mane and tail (looks like cotton candy!).  This 15.3H 3-yr-old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding is a grandson of the beautiful "Trip My Trigger" and out of a "Threat's Supreme"/"Ebony Masterpiece" mare.  He has been started the right way, in our natural horsemanship training program, first being ridden in halter an lead ropes, then graduated to snaffle and now starting on the shanks.  Bon Jovi is being trained with double reins for maximum softness, but before he goes to his new home, he will be on single reins to the shank.  (You can see the bit we use on our tack page (click on picture below):

This beautiful gelding wasn't started too early, and is probably less than two months from being finished.  We will be hauling him to Colorado in June for our camping trip and he will be ridden in the Rocky Mountains, and we have prepared him for this trip by taking him on several smaller, shorter camping trips already, during which he led, followed, rode in the middle of the group, rode out alone, rode with dogs following, bounding ahead, crossed logs, creeks, boggy areas, and swam in the lake.

Bon Jovi's gait is simply magnificent -- a true four-beat, steady, consistent running walk and his canter is fairy tale as he rises and falls slowly with white mane flying up and down.  He backs with the slightest of pressure, forehand turns, pivots, side passes, loads/unloads, pastures well with others, never had any accidents or illnesses . . . this is really the kind of horse that everyone is looking for.  More pictures and video soon.  $6500

Huey works Bon Jovi on cattle, and at left, he meets "Bessie Lu", a beautiful F-1 (Brahma/Hereford cross) cow that won 4th at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo a few years ago.

Second from right, Huey rides Bon Jovi on 4/25/10 on an equestrian association's annual trail ride in the Angelina Forest to Lake Rayburn.  Two other Cloud 9 horses join us on this ride, also -- in front (far left) is Cherie on "Zeb", and following her is Leeanne on "Princess", a daughter of our beloved "Gunsmoke" that we raised.
