Easter Anna in the remnants of her winter coat, with her mane flying in the wind, tied to the "Tree of Knowledge", a cedar pole in the midle of the round pen.  Horses trained with this aid almost never pull on the lead rope, and they are taught the utmost respect for their handler.

Learning to drive on the long lines.

The lines are run rom each side of the halter, through the stirrups, and teach the horse to turn, stop, back from the ground.  This is the basic training for both riding and pulling a cart.
