Extraordinary Buckskin 10-yr-old Tennessee Walking Horse Gelding

Bud riding John Wayne on 9/30/06 in Lake Sam Rayburn.

"J W" (His registered name is John Wayne!) This is the most fantastic buckskin Tennessee Walking Horse gelding that you'll ever ride! His gait is a rare single foot, smooth as silk, effortless, light footfall, no moving in the saddle, no pace, no trot -- just pure pleasure! John Wayne is a Cadillac.

He's built stocky with a wide chest, crease down his back, nice beautiful round rump, very pretty face, golden color with black points. He handles with a light, loose rein, snaffle bit and doesn't mind riding at the front or the back of the ride. If he is scared of something, he handles it like a pro -- he simply cocks one ear toward the scary object and slightly veers away -- no spinning or running. This comes from 7 years of trail experience in the mountains of Tennessee. Traffic, dogs, not much bothers him. I rode him on 5/18/06 past an elementary school at recess and a gang of kids came running toward him. At the risk of being "unsociable", I let him just keep solid 4-beating right by them and they never scared him or caused him to miss a beat.

JW is 10 years old and in his prime, lots of great years left and the kind of horse to develop confidence in a timid rider, yet respond to make him enjoyable for even experienced riders. It's not often that a horse like this one comes up for sale, but his owner's health forces a change in lifestyle.

JW is registered TWHBEA and he is a brother to the broodmare we have for sale "Louisiana Midnight Delite" (you can see her and their sire at http://www.cloud9walkers.com/SaleBroodmares.htm He is sired by "I'm No Stranger" (Sun's Delight D bred) and out of a Pride of Midnight mare. He is 15 hands tall exactly on the measuring stick and is stocky enough to carry a big man and sweet enough to carry a fun-loving child.
