Barefoot of keg shod, either way she's as smooth as silk with absolutely no pace!
"Sissy" -- Big, stout 9-yr-old 15.1H golden palomino Tennessee Walking Horse mare with lots of chrome -- blazed face, four stockings, white mane and tail . . . stay tuned for more pictures as she sheds her winter coat and becomes golden and slick. Her gaits are just phenomenal -- she's barefoot and performing a true four-beat head-shaking Tennessee walk, will rack also with thrilling speed, then has a nice easy athletic trail canter. She is fine for advanced beginner and up, probably too much 'fun' for a timid rider, although we have let timid riders ride her and they had a really good time on her.
Sissy's gait is what the gaited world is all about, and should be breeding for, and her bloodlines are tops (Gen's Armed & Dangerous! One of my favorites). She has a smooth-as-silk Tennessee Walk which really covers ground, and she's steady and consistent about it. This mare has a good, strong worth ethic and she's what the old-timers call "an honest horse". I led an equestrian association group on through the forest on unmarked trails last Saturday and chose her for my mount for the day -- what a great decision I made! She led the way, rode in the middle while I socialized, rode at the back of the ride with no objection while I checked on the stragglers, and then cooperated with me while I rode far out in the the forest to get in position to take pictures of the group as they rode by. All this with no shoes on her feet -- the rough terrain didn't make her tender, nor did the rocks that we rode on. She is an ambassador for the breed, proving by performing the textbook gait BAREFOOT! This is really one NICE mare with no mare issues!
This mare is a really good all-around rounded out mare -- she has had three foals ('06, '07 and '08) and is a great mother to her foals. $3950
